Welcome to IKMUN! The Ibn Khuldoon National School’s annual Model United Nations conference is where students roleplay delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. Participants significantly improve their leadership, public speaking, teamwork, and negotiation skills, while also expanding the youth’s vision on different issues the world is facing in our present time.
At IKMUN, delegates will experience debating in both the traditional and modern procedures, which mimics the dynamics of the United Nations and the Kingdom of Bahrain. By granting the delegates creativity and freedom in debate, as well as establishing rules and regulations in IKMUN, we are able to ensure an enjoyable experience for all.
Since the establishment of our conference in 2014, we have maintained a reputation built on innovative and scholarly issues that are discussed and debated by our delegates in each and every council. Thankfully, IKMUN has always proved to be one of the most successful MUN conferences on the island. Delegates and guests start forming their opinions on the conference from the first step they take on the school’s grounds, until the very last step as they leave. In this year's special case, delegates will be forming these opinions from the very moment they join the online conference to the moment they leave the meeting. The goal of the head team is to make sure that everything they see and interact with is as appealing, smooth, and beneficial as possible
The IKMUN team will forever be proud of building the conference to become an outlet of opportunity for students all over the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Granting opportunities for a variety of positions such as chairs, press, runners, and security members, resulted in diversification in the experiences delegates. Overall, the IKMUN team has worked tirelessly year by year to continuously uphold the reputation we have built for our conference and achieve what is expected of us and much more.

IKMUN'S Goals
Social Orientation For the past six years, the Ibn Khuldoon Model United Nations (IKMUN) conference has built strong relations with other schools in Bahrain. This has helped attract an array of different delegates from the Kingdom of Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the State of Kuwait. IKMUN has worked tirelessly for a goal to open opportunities for students at government schools in Bahrain. With training sessions designed to cater to their needs, IKMUN is set to build relationships between the students studying at different schools for a better future.
Academic Orientation IKMUN has always recognized the importance of academic orientation in any Model United Nations conference. IKMUN has built a reputation based around the creative councils and issues that create a new dynamic in the Bahrain Model United Nations community. With a mixture of General Assembly, Specialized, Historical, and Arabic-speaking councils, IKMUN is able to meet any delegates' needs. As a conference, we prioritize creating an environment that favors strong debate and discussion, which is achieved by effective chair training sessions and clear background research provided to delegates. Additionally, IKMUN asks delegates to prepare a position paper (one for each topic) prior to the conference. With the knowledge obtained, delegates are fully capable of participating in: strong debates, writing detailed and efficient resolutions, and develop leadership and speaking skills.
